Andy Roark

Andy Roark, MS, DVM

Dr. Andy Roark is a practicing veterinarian, international speaker, author, and media personality. He is the founder of the Uncharted Veterinary Conference and DrAndyRoark.com. He has been an award-winning columnist for DVM360 and his popular Facebook page, website, podcast and YouTube show reach millions of people every month.

Dr. Roark has received the NAVC Practice Management Speaker of the Year Award three times, the WVC Practice Management Educator of the Year Award, the Outstanding Young Alumni Award from the University of Florida’s College of Veterinary Medicine, and the Veterinarian of the Year Award from the South Carolina Association of Veterinarians. His greatest achievement however involves marrying a bad-ass scientist and raising 2 kind and wonderful daughters.

Wendy S. Myers, CVJ

Wendy S. Myers, CVJ, has been sharing her expertise in client service and communication skills with teams for 21 years as owner of Communication Solutions for Veterinarians. She teaches teams to become confident communicators, so more pet owners comply to medical care and practices grow revenue. Wendy shares her knowledge through conferences, online courses and monthly live webinars. She is a certified veterinary journalist and author of five books. For five years Wendy was a partner in an AAHA-accredited specialty and emergency hospital, which was sold to a corporate group. Her passion is to help practices thrive and grow through effective communication skills.

Dr Jim DeLano

James DeLano, DVM

Dr. Jim DeLano is a veterinarian and entrepreneur with more than 34 years of experience in veterinary practice leadership and management. His practice ownership career was launched with a de novo in 1989. The 32-year run of this practice has seen two relocations, a merger and an acquisition. The practice currently employs 110 staff caring for over 12,000 families and their pets annually. A data-driven approach to practice management has created systems / operations and flow that will improve your practice operations.

In addition to his work in practice and at a national level in the profession, Dr. DeLano has served as an adjunct instructor in communication and business at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. For the past ten years, he has assisted in the development of a robust communication skills training program for veterinary students. He also serves as an instructor for the UC Davis Graduate School of Management Foundations of Veterinary Business course.

Bash Halow

Bashore Halow, CVPM, LVT

Bash is a certified veterinary practice manager and a licensed veterinary technician. As a veterinary business advisor and a veteran practice manager with more than 20 years of experience, Bash has helped dozens of veterinary hospitals understand how to build stronger teams and responsibly and ethically grow their businesses. He is a frequent contributor to Veterinary Economics and DVM 360 and is a member of the editorial advisory board for the FetchDVM360 veterinary conferences. He is a member of the American Animal Hospital Association, the PVMA, founder and member of the New Jersey Veterinary Hospital Management Association, founder of the Big Apple Veterinary Management Association and member of the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association.

Dave Nicol, DVM, BVMS Cert Mgmt MRCVS

Dr. Dave Nicol has been a veterinarian for more than 20 years, is a serial veterinary hospital owner and has held several leadership roles within practice and media. He has written three books, most recently the best-selling, So You’re A Vet…Now What? – a manifesto on how to survive as a veterinarian after graduation. He publishes three podcasts, including the Blunt Dissection Podcast. Combined, the podcasts have been downloaded more than a quarter million times.

Dr. Dave is the founder of VetX International, a business that helps humans get along so workplaces thrive. It does this by working with practices to implement simple systems that help practices grow happy cultures, where effective teams do great work. In 2019 he was voted VMX Practice Manager Speaker of the Year, the first Scotsman to achieve this honour. Oh, and he still owns a veterinary practice in London, England. Dr Mary Gardner
Mary Gardner, DVM

There is nothing better to Dr. Gardner than a dog with a grey muzzle or skinny old cat! Her professional goal is to increase awareness and medical care for the geriatric veterinary patient and to help make the final life stage to be as peaceful as possible, surrounded with dignity and support for all involved. A University of Florida graduate, she discovered her niche in end of life care and is the co-founder and CIO of Lap of Love which has over 200 veterinarians around the country dedicated to veterinary hospice and euthanasia in the home. Dr. Gardner and Lap of Love have been featured in Entrepreneur magazine, The New York Times, the Associated Press, The Doctors and numerous professional veterinary publications. She also won VMX Small Animal Speaker of the year in 2020!

Eric Garcia

Wendy Hauser

Wendy Hauser, DVM

Wendy Hauser, DVM, established Peak Veterinary Consulting in January 2015 after working as an industry technical services veterinarian. As a DVM, she practiced for 30+ years as an associate, owner and relief veterinarian. She is highly engaged in AAHA leadership having served as a member of the Board of Directors, as the Board Vice-President and currently serves as the AAHA Delegate to the AVMA House of Delegates. The co-author of The Veterinarian’s Guide to Healthy Pet Plans, her most recent career move is as AVP, Veterinary Relations, Crum & Forster Pet Insurance Group.

Peter Weinstein

Peter Weinstein, DVM

Dr. Peter Weinstein has spoken and written extensively on practice management, team building, leadership, collegiality, marketing and other topics focused on making the veterinary profession better for all those affiliated with it. He has served as President of the Southern California Veterinary Medical Association and the California Veterinary Medical Association as well as President of VetPartners, the national consultants association. Currently, Dr. Weinstein serves as the Chair of the AVMA’s Veterinary Economic Strategy Committee and Executive Director for the Southern California Veterinary Medical Association. Most recently, he co-authored with Michael E. Gerber, The EMyth Veterinarian – Why Most Veterinary Practices Don’t Work and What to Do About It.

Steve Gray has an extensive technical background and for the last 25 years has been working with Fortune 500 companies to develop and implement strategic technological advancements. He is a relative newcomer to the veterinary space but has spent time in the GPO world, with 3 years as the Chief Technology Officer for Vertical Vet and Vertical Vet Reminders.

In 2020, Steve built and launched Vet Scout, an online platform that allows veterinary professionals to streamline their purchasing processes. His focus while developing Vet Scout was to assist the veterinary community in navigating the new and upcoming changes the digital era is creating for the industry.
